Our mission is to sustain and build on the traditions set by our predecessors.

We aim to achieve this through the following objectives:

•    Building of a Hostel Spirit that will encourage every boarder to achieve her level best academically.
•    To live out our Christian principles.
•    To strengthen and expand our presence in the School Community.
•    To create a home from home for everybody in the Hostel.
•    To create a sense of loyalty and pride for our immediate surroundings and to appreciate the efforts of maintenance already in place.
•    To become true, educated and motivated future Mothers and Citizens of Namibia.

Learners/parents/guardians are advised to immediately demand a receipt for all monies paid in at school or at the hostel.  Receipts should be kept in a safe place.  The school want to state very clearly that the onus of proof of payment lies with the parent/guardian and not the school.  In other words, the parent/guardian may not request nor will they be allowed to peruse the receipt books of the school in order to prove that they did pay their hostel fees, neither can they ask or demand that the school must “look it up”.

Bank-guaranteed cheques must be crossed and made out to Centaurus High School.  Ensure that all details required are filled-in on the back of the cheque as required.  Please note that no other cheques will be accepted.  We advise parents not to hand over cash to learners since we cannot take responsibility for theft from learners.  Parents are advised to pay cash in at the office themselves.

Alternatively, parents/guardians are more than welcome to deposit their contributions directly into the school’s bank account.  Please remember to fax or send a copy of the deposit slip to the office with the boarder’s name clearly printed thereon, with a note attached explaining what the amount is intended for.  The school’s bank details are as follows:

Nedbank      Hidas Branch      Branch No: 169 672    Account No:  1696 007 933

HOSTEL FEE
Learners who stay in the hostel of our school need to pay an amount of N$837.00 per year or N$279.00 per term per learner.  These monies are destined for the Government and the school merely acts as a collection agency.  Please note that these fees must be paid on the first day of each term.  Learners, who are in arrears with these payments, may be refused entry into the hostel.  Also note that these fees may change from time to time as Government decides.

HOSTEL DEVELOPMENT FUND
The school board approves a budget for the allocation of hostel development fund contributions.  The financial journals of the school and hostel are audited annually, reports submitted to the school board and made available to parents for inspection on request.  This fund is used for accidental breakages, renovation and improvement of hostel facilities, extra food and spices not provided by the caterers as well as to sponsor the annual Year-End Dinner.  Learners whose contributions are in arrears will not be allowed to make use of the privileges in the hostel paid for from this fund, such as not being allowed to attend the Year-End Dinner.

In order to balance the budget approved for 2008, a contribution of N$900.00 per year is payable by all learners, i.e. N$300.00 per term per learner.
